Professional Overview

Murat Yüksel is a distinguished Senior Interior Architect with over 15 years of extensive experience in large-scale international projects. Currently serving as the Head of Design at Cita Design, he leads the interior architectural processes for global cruise ship projects. Simultaneously, through his own firm, Murat Yüksel Interior Architecture, he provides bespoke design solutions for luxury hotels and high-end residential villas across Kocaeli, Izmit, and Istanbul.

Expertise & Leadership

Throughout his tenure at the Istanbul-based Tözün Architecture, Murat successfully spearheaded the design and visualization of 15+ luxury hotel projects. His deep-rooted expertise in hospitality design is now complemented by his specialized role in maritime architecture, where he manages complex interior designs for international cruise liners, adhering to strict IMO/MED standards.

As the Board Secretary of the Kocaeli Chamber of Interior Architects for two terms, Murat has been a driving force for digital transformation in the region. He has conducted multiple seminars and training sessions for professionals and students, focusing on:

EmlakPro: An AI-driven web application utilizing Google Gemini for real-time interior visualization in the real estate sector.
Custom Python/Flask Applications: Streamlining project proposals and client tracking for architects.

Personal Philosophy & Social Impact

Based in Kocaeli, Murat brings a fresh, international energy to the local architecture scene. Beyond his professional achievements, he is a dedicated father of two—Atlas and Uras Arsen. Inspired by his son Uras Arsen, he is a passionate advocate for Down Syndrome awareness, integrating empathy and social responsibility into his professional and personal life.

1. Intern Interior Designer - Hande Tozun Interior Design Studio

2007

I launched my career as an intern at Hande Tozun Interior Design Studio, where I gained my first hands-on experience in hospitality interior design, working on high-end hotel projects and developing a strong foundation in creating functional, elegant, and guest-focused spaces.

2. Lead Designer - Hande Tozun Interior Design Studio

2008-2022

During my 15 years as Lead Designer at Hande Tozun Interior Design Studio, I played a key role in over 15 hotel projects, gaining extensive experience in hospitality and luxury residential interiors. The projects I contributed to earned the studio five international awards, including three ‘Best Hotel Design in Turkey of the Year’ honors, reflecting our excellence and innovation in hotel design.

3. Head Of Design - Cita Design Studio
